Under the direction of the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager, the Bilingual Safety and Operations Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and delivering safety and operations training to promote a proactive safety culture and developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to ensure a safe and compliant food manufacturing environment.

This position combines hands-on coaching with structured training and development programs that empower employees to take ownership of both personal and food safety. The role serves as a bridge between Operations, Health & Safety, and Training teams to align people, processes, and safety performance goals. Must be able to perform all duties in both English & Spanish at an intermediate to native level, including translating & interpreting as needed.

Will train on 1st Shift to begin with.

What You’ll Do

As our Bilingual Safety & Operations Training Coordinator – 2nd Shift, you’ll:

  • Serve as an on-floor safety advocate coaching employees and supervisors on safe work practices, hazard awareness, and risk prevention.
  • Mentor team leaders and supervisors to improve their ability to coach and communicate safety expectations effectively.
  • Schedule, lead, and administer to safety and operations orientations, on-going training, cross-training, and training required for corrective action.
  • Facilitate learning using engaging methods such as hands-on demonstrations, simulations, and peer mentoring.
  • Conduct behavioral safety observations and provide constructive, supportive feedback to employees.
  • Encourage open dialogue about safety and food safety concerns; promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Reinforce positive behaviors and recognize individuals and teams demonstrating safe work habits.
  • Maintain accurate training records and track employee completion to ensure regulatory and internal compliance.
  • Update and improve training materials (presentations, job aids, e-learning modules) to align with adult learning principles and company goals.
  • Enter all IE completed training in ADP (HRIS).
  • Support implementation of company health and safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, ergonomics, chemical management, and emergency preparedness.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, FSMA, and company-specific health and safety requirements.
  • Emergency Response continual evaluation, updating and training.
  • Data analysis and reporting. 
  • Track and report on key safety performance indicators, training metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to integrate safety into daily operations and project planning.
  • Provide input into safety policies and procedures and assist with audits and inspections.
  • Must be able to perform all duties in both English & Spanish at an intermediate to native level. This includes translating & interpreting as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 What You Bring to the Table

  • High school diploma or GED required.; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Food Science, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in safety in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience designing and delivering employee training programs preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Train-the-Trainer, HACCP, or PCQI certification preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Strong coaching and communication skills with the ability to influence positive behavioral change.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, food safety principles, and manufacturing safety practices.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills using adult learning techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and shifts.
  • Ability to perform all duties in both English & Spanish at an intermediate to native level. Including both translating and interpreting as needed.
