    Littlefield ISD seeks a caring and qualified individual to provide functional special education instruction to elementary students.

    Location:  Littlefield ISD, Elementary Campus

    Primary Purpose: provide special education students with functional learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth.  Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons as well as other instructional materials to match student ability levels. 

    Education/Certification:
    Bachelor's degree from accredited university
    Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned, including special education certification

    Expectations include the following: 
    -collaboration with students, parents and other staff members to develop Standards Based IEPs through the IEP Team Process
    -implement an instructional program for students with disabilities and show written evidence of preparation as required
    -plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities and materials
    -gather data to support academic and functional growth toward attainment of IEP goals
    -participate in ARD meetings on a regular basis
    -consult district and outside resources regarding education, social, medical and personal needs of students
    -create classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students
    -plan and assign the work of paraprofessionals and oversee completion of tasks
    -maintain emotional control under stress

    Experience:
    One-year teaching experience preferred
