    The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving approximately 3500 students in Westchester County. We are seeking excellent educators who can provide high-quality instruction and build authentic, supportive relationships with students.     Chappaqua CSD is looking for thoughtful and knowledgeable educators to serve in the probationary positions of ENL Teacher district-wide effective September 2, 2026. 

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

    • Teach students how to speak, listen, read and write in English and how to comprehend spoken English for those students who speak another language(s) (i.e. Spanish, Mandarin, etc.)
    • Administer diagnostic and state mandated assessments of English Language Learners.
    • Evaluate, determine goals for, and track progress of individual English language learners, and communicate with faculty, students and families.
    • Provide direct ENL instruction to small groups of students and/or provide inclusion support for ELLs in various elementary and middle school grade levels.
    • Advise teachers on modifying/accommodating curriculum for ENL students and share best practices to ensure high quality instruction.
    • Knowledge of the workshop and gradual release models.
    • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and reporting as required by district procedures and applicable regulations.
    • Fosters a welcoming classroom environment that nurtures emotional well-being and a sense of belonging.
    • Uses NYS standards educational research to inform instructional practices.
    • Uses formative assessments to gauge student understanding.
    • Has experience with evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies to promote emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the RULER approach is preferred.
    • Uses knowledge of students and student performance when planning lessons.
    • Infuses culturally relevant practices to ensure that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students.
    • Integrates diverse perspectives and voices into instructional materials and resources to broaden students' understanding of the world.
    • Maintains high expectations for all students.
    • Engages in regular, collaborative professional development with the understanding that team efficacy is greater than individual efforts alone.

    Certification/Experience: 

    • New York State Certification - TESOL
    • Successful prior ENL teaching experience

    26/27 Salary Range: $73,019 - 155,921
