As a Materials Specialist, you will help maintain accurate inventory across clinical areas, ensuring supplies are stocked, tracked, and available when needed. This role focuses on detail, routine, and reliability, supporting patient care behind the scenes by keeping essential systems organized and running smoothly.

Responsibilities:
Inventory Management (Primary)
- Perform daily inventory adjustments
- Conduct daily physical inventory counts of medical supplies
- Reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records
- Restock and rotate supplies to maintain accuracy and expiration compliance
- Maintain clean, clearly labeled, and standardized supply locations
- Maintain consistent, adequate stock levels in clinical areas
- Organize stock locations with current labels and barcodes
- Use inventory software to track, adjust, and reorder supplies
- Establish and maintain inventory templates and par levels
Supply Coordination (Secondary)
- Support purchasing functions for assigned departments
- Follow established processes to maintain appropriate supply levels
- Coordinate with nursing staff for special request items
- Consult with managers and clinical staff regarding supply needs
- Take appropriate action on product and equipment recalls
- Assist with vendor coordination as needed
Team Communication and Support (Support)
- Communicate clearly and in a timely fashion with team members
- Support team member with supply-related questions
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to safety practices and report hazards promptly
- Maintain equipment according to hospital policies
- Uphold the values of MCH: Compassion, Collaboration, Honesty, and Respect
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy required
- Ability to follow and maintain standardized processes
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with consistency
- Basic data entry and inventory system experience preferred
- Computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Able to communicate clearly with team members as needed
This is an active role that involves regular movement throughout the day. Responsibilities include:
- Standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
- Using hands to handle and move supplies
- Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and lighter items regularly
- Pushing or pulling supply carts, which may require up to 100 pounds of force
- Visual attention to detail for reading labels, inventory counts, and system entries

Working Hours:
- This is a part time position working 28.5 hours a week. Part-time employees are eligible for a range of benefits, including retirement savings options and a free gym membership, with additional offerings based on hours worked.
