Essential Job Duties That Must Be Safely Performed with or Without Reasonable Accommodation:
Provide compassionate care and to advocate for our resident’s while being respectful and empathetic of their needs.
Review resident’s records and complete assessments as appropriate (Skin Integrity; falls; Bladder; etc.) to utilize when establishing the resident’s functional status and care needs.
Carry out the administration of medications, treatment and care of each resident as prescribed in the care plan.
Responsible for accuracy in medication orders* and medication counts*
Responsible for receiving and documenting receipt of medications from pharmacy. Put medications away in med carts/med rooms after receipt. (Routine medication orders are normally delivered on 3-11 or 11-7 shift)
Give report to oncoming Licensed Nurse, and Nurse Manager / Supervisor as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information at all times.
Attend mandatory facility in-services and license staff meetings at least 4 times per year; keep abreast of current trends in nursing care and show interest in continued growth.
Required Job Skills:
Sufficient knowledge of nursing practices and techniques to provide a high level of resident care (see required competencies listed below).
Knowledge of supervisory techniques.
Effective communication on an interpersonal level, both written and verbal.
Cooperative and effective work style within an interdisciplinary team.
Certified in CPR.
Education/Experience:
Current Registered Nursing RN licensure in the State of Maine and a graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Prior experience caring for geriatric patients in a long-term health care setting preferred.
