We are seeking a Senior IT Systems Manager to provide on-demand Cybersecurity and IT services to support the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) mission at the NIGC Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

So, what will the Senior IT Systems Manager at Terrestris do?

The Senior IT Systems Manager provides leadership and hands-on support for cybersecurity and enterprise IT systems supporting the National Indian Gaming Commission mission. They oversee secure network operations, manage IT infrastructure and compliance, and deliver on-demand technical an  cybersecurity services to protect systems, data, and continuity of operations at NIGC headquarters in Washington, D.C.

What does a typical day look like for a Senior IT Systems Manager?

You will: 

  • Perform systems engineering and maintenance
    following standards.
  • Apply NIST and FISMA principles to IT systems
    management.
  • Implement and troubleshoot solutions across LAN,
    Azure, cloud, and wireless environments.
  • Evaluate IT architecture and recommend
    improvements.
  • Identify FISMA compliance gaps and propose
    remediation plans.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 Entra ID (conditional
    access, MFA, auditing).
  • Provide operational recommendations to system
    owners.
  • Develop and implement STIG baselines and
    monitoring/alerting.
  • Perform daily systems administration (on-prem
    and cloud).
  • Execute security compliance tasks (EDR policies,
    SCUBA baselines).
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers,
    storage, and networking equipment.
  • Develop disaster recovery strategies.
  • Implement patch management and secure data.
  • Apply firmware and security updates.
  • Maintain system configurations and mitigate
    vulnerabilities.
  • Support projects and system integrations.
  • Develop and maintain systems documentation and
    SOPs.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:

  • Authorization to permanently work in the United
    States without sponsorship.
  • A Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant
    certifications (AZ-800/801, AZ-104, MS-102, SC-300, Security+, Server+, CASP+,
    CAP, RHCSA, Cisco CCNA or CCNP Enterprise, etc.).
  • Minimum 6 years of continuous experience in IT
    systems engineering or administration.
  • Demonstrated experience applying NIST guidelines
    and FISMA requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure,
    Entra ID (identity, MFA, conditional access), and on-premises and cloud
    infrastructure (servers, storage, networking).
  • Experience in systems engineering,
    administration, architecture evaluation, patch management, STIG implementation,
    and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Disaster recovery planning and security
    compliance activities.
  • Ability to recommend system improvements and
    remediation plans and support integration of IT systems and projects.
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision at a
    senior level.
