Job Summary:
Based in Montana or North Dakota, you will join Trihydro’s Air and Process Services Team, supporting air quality monitoring programs focused on optical gas imaging (OGI), Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) monitoring, and quantitative emissions monitoring. In this role, you will conduct regulatory field surveys, collect emissions data, and assist with preparing detailed compliance reports.
This full-time position offers hands-on experience in air quality monitoring and environmental compliance while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The role involves up to 50% regional travel and provides opportunities to develop technical, regulatory, and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform air quality regulatory and compliance monitoring, including OGI and related emissions measurement activities.
- Conduct field surveys, gather data, and prepare accurate, detailed reports summarizing findings.
- Support compliance planning, facility inspections, and environmental audits.
- Develop project management and client service skills through direct project involvement.
- Work safely and efficiently in industrial and outdoor environments, often involving extended walking, standing, and work at heights.
- Adapt to varying weather conditions and field schedules (approximately 40–45 hours per week with flexible hours).
Qualifications:
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in the environmental industry.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and geologists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and related software tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and a commitment to safe operations.
- Willingness to travel regionally to client sites and other Trihydro offices as needed.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Performance Metrics:
LDAR/OGI Monitoring Professionals will be evaluated on the following key performance areas during their first year:
1. Field and Technical Execution
- Maintains accuracy and attention to detail during OGI/LDAR and emissions monitoring.
- Completes field surveys and data collection per project requirements and regulations.
- Improves technical skills, regulatory knowledge, and project support over the first year.
- Works reliably with frequent travel and shifting schedules/field conditions.
2. Project and Team Support
- Follows project instructions and communicates questions or deviations promptly.
- Coordinates with supervisors, project leads, and teammates to meet project objectives.
3. Safety and Compliance
- Follows safety procedures, training, and site-specific plans; reports hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly.
- Uses PPE correctly and consistently in the field.
