    Position: Operations & Logistics Support Specialist

    Responsible To: Director of Operations

    Payment Rate: Salary and benefits to be established by the Board of Education

    Length of Work Agreement: 260 Days

     

    Job Summary: The Operations & Logistics Support Specialist provides essential support to Nutrition Services, Operations, and Transportation by coordinating the flow of materials, supplies, and equipment across the district. This role focuses on logistics, inventory management, purchasing support, and maintenance coordination to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. The position serves as a flexible support resource but is not the primary coverage for custodial, food service, or transportation roles.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Logistics & Distribution (Primary Focus)

    • Pick up mail from the post office and distribute to designated buildings
    • Receive, sort, and deliver freight and shipments across district sites
    • Coordinate timely distribution of supplies and materials

    Inventory & Supply Management

    • Maintain inventory of custodial supplies, paper goods, and operational materials
    • Monitor stock levels and initiate reorders as needed
    • Assign and coordinate work orders for delivery of supplies to buildings

    Procurement Support

    • Create and process purchase orders (POs) for Operations and Nutrition Services
    • Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records

    Maintenance Coordination

    • Assist with scheduling routine maintenance for buses, district vehicles, ice machines, and kitchen equipment
    • Communicate with vendors and internal staff to ensure timely service and minimal disruption

    Administrative Support

    • Perform data entry and maintain organized records related to purchasing, inventory, and maintenance
    • Provide general clerical support to departments as needed
    • Manage food service records and student financials for lunch/breakfast

    Transportation Support (Limited)

    • Assist the Transportation Department with coordination or support tasks as needed
    • May operate district vehicles when required and properly licensed
    • CDL preferred but not required

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
    • Experience in logistics, operations, inventory, or administrative support preferred
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Basic computer proficiency (data entry, spreadsheets, email)
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry packages and supplies (moderate weight)
    • Ability to walk between buildings and perform delivery tasks
    • Ability to work in various environments including office, warehouse, and maintenance areas

    Work Environment:

    • Primarily mobile role with regular movement between multiple buildings/sites
    • Combination of indoor office and operational environments
    • Work schedule may vary slightly based on delivery and operational needs

    Additional Expectations:

    • This position is designed as a logistics and operations support role
    • May provide occasional assistance to other departments during peak times or staffing shortages, but is not a primary substitute position for custodial, nutrition services, or transportation roles
