2025-2026 Special Education Instructional Assistant (Full-Time) for Foundational Classroom(s) at Greenbriar Elementary School

Starting Hourly Rate: $24.42 per hour or commensurate with experience
Benefits Eligibility: Eligible for part-time or full-time benefits for classified personnel based on assigned schedule
Work Year: 8/18/2025 - 6/2/2026
Days Off:  10 holidays plus winter break (10 days) and spring break (5 days)
Schedule: 7:45am - 3:45pm
24 Pay Schedule: 1st Pay on Friday 8/29/2025; last pay on Monday 6/2/2026, plus 3 additional summer pays also paid on 6/30/2026

Associate's Degree (or higher) or 60 semester hours of coursework

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Support individual and small group instruction in the general and special education environment for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with certified personnel (i.e. special education teachers, general education teachers, and related services personnel) to support individual student needs 
  • Serve as a liaison between general and special education personnel, communicating student progress and needs
  • Support data collection related to individual student goals
  • Build and maintain positive and supportive relationships with students and staff
  • Assist certiifed personnel with preparation of materials and modifications
  • Provide accommodations as determined by a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) team
  • Support and model the implementation of classroom and school-wide expectations
  • Support the implementation of individual student behavior plans
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve in the moment in the best interest of students
  • Support the generalization of skills across settings
  • Collaboratively assist students in the development of adaptive/daily living skills
  • Assist students in toileting, changing, and feeding as needed 
  • Assist in safely lifting and transferring students who weigh over fifty (50) pounds
  • Individually lift and transfer students under fifty (50) pounds
  • Participate in team meetings as needed
  • Participate in annual Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Trauma-Informed training and other professional development as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned
