    UPPER MORELAND TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    Position: Transportation Assistant
    Department: Transportation
    Reports to: Transportation Director
    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) � Educational Support Professional Association
    Schedule: Part Time, 10 Months

    SUMMARY:
    To provide assistance to assigned students on district buses and vans as assigned.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
    (Other appropriate duties may be assigned.)

    • Assist student and driver to secure any equipment appropriately on the transportation vehicle;
    • Assist in securing student in the transportation vehicle as assigned with driver assistance if needed;
    • Monitor student conduct on vehicle, documenting any safety violations or behavior issues;
    • Communicates with student, administrators and parents as needed and in a professional manner;
    • Attend any in-service training as assigned

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and is able to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee may be required to push students in wheelchair/adaptive equipment.
    • Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements.
    • Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment.
