Responsibilities of a Substitute Teacher

 

• Provide quality instruction to students on behalf of the permanent teacher in assigned classroom(s)
• Implement effective routines, procedures, and lesson plans on behalf of the permanent teacher
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration or designee
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration or designee

 

Qualifications

 

• Must be proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Must submit to and clear a criminal background check
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application submission
• Some college hours or college degree preferred
