POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, leads, and implements recreational and creative experiences for camp attendees and staff. Provides high quality experiences to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide leadership and guidance for a summer camp group and staff.
- Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
- Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
- Assists children in daily needs, such as washing hands, restroom use, tracking belongings, etc.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, drop-off/pick procedures, supervision, incident reports, accurate head counts, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
