The Business Analyst is responsible for driving solution delivery and business outcomes by owning requirements, shaping solutions, and ensuring implementation aligns with measurable business value. This role operates with a high degree of independence and is accountable for translating business needs into implemented, validated solutions in partnership with stakeholders, PMO, engineering, and QA.
This position requires a results-motivated, detail-oriented professional who will introduce structure and best practices while keeping processes lean and practical.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Elicitation & Management
- Own end-to-end requirements lifecycle including prioritization, decision-making, and acceptance of delivered functionality
- Improve project delivery quality and timeliness through requirements gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders
- Capture, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements
- Develop clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules
- Ensure requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify, resolve, and actively remove delivery blockers (dependencies, constraints, risks)
- Make trade-off decisions on scope, priority, and requirements clarity to maintain delivery
momentum - Drive requirements from concept through implementation, ensuring readiness for
development - Act as the final arbiter of requirement completeness and acceptance criteria quality
2. Business Process Analysis
- Own delivery of process improvements through implementation, not just recommendation
- Validate that process changes are adopted and producing expected outcomes
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities; establish improvement plans with stakeholders; lead improvement initiatives to completion
- Ensure process alignment across stakeholder groups by working closely with process owners, teams, and end-users throughout the process lifecycle
3. Stakeholder Coordination
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with business users & technical teams
- Drive stakeholder alignment through clear decisions, structured trade-offs, & defined outcomes
- Challenge assumptions and push stakeholders toward actionable decisions
- Hold stakeholders accountable to timelines, inputs, and agreed outcomes
- Measure, baseline, & improve stakeholder satisfaction by managing expectations, and building and implementing improvement plans based on collected feedback
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and delivered solutions
- Minimize reliance on workshops by proactively synthesizing inputs and presenting decision-ready outputs
4. Best Practices & Lightweight Frameworks
- Operationalize and enforce lightweight BA standards across projects
- Ensure adoption of templates, traceability, and change control through active governance
- Continuously refine practices based on delivery outcomes, not theoretical best practices
- Define, deploy, and support a nimble approach to process management
- Support backlog grooming and prioritization processes
5. Project Support
- Own readiness of work entering development (clear, testable, prioritized)
- Partner with engineering during build to clarify requirements in real-time and prevent delivery delays
- Own UAT execution, including defect triage, prioritization, and go/no-go recommendations
- Validate delivered solutions against business objectives and ensure successful implementation
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in software or technology projects
- Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or structured project environments

- Comfort operating as a product owner–like role when needed
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Highly self-directed and accountable
Preferred
- CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar certification
- Experience establishing BA practices in growing organizations
- Experience with backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
