Description
The One-On-One Strength Training Partner volunteer will provide companionship and equipment assistance to an independent adult member with Down Syndrome. The volunteer will accompany the member through their strength training regimine and adjust the machine settings as necessary to comply with the member's personal fitness plan.
Schedule:
Volunteer will meet with the member on Wednesday evenings, preferably around 5pm. Exact schedule to be determined based on the needs of the member and volunteer availability.
Requirements
Adult applicants 18+ years only. Interest in fitness and/or strength training and general knowledge of strength training equipment is preferred. Prior experience interacting with adults with disabilities is helpful but not required. This is an on-going volunteer committment; applicants must be reliable and dependable.
Applicant must complete all requirements of the volunteer onboarding process before he/she will be approved to begin actively volunteering.
