Solution Sales Specialist - Capital Goods

BASIC FUNCTION
The Solution Sales Specialist (SSS) Capital Goods, reporting to the District Manager – Ontario & Maritimes, is responsible for the sales support of our robotic milking systems, conventional milking systems, farm management and cooling solutions across Ontario. In addition, the SSS will coordinate and act as a trainer and facilitator of group activities involving Robotic Milking Solutions in other provinces and states.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively promote new and existing products, marketing tools, campaigns and activities to dealerships and personnel.
- Support and follow-up of dealer development plans and objectives.
- Deliver trainings to dealership personnel the application and commercial aspects of product offering
- Act as one-to-one coach for dealership sales personnel, reinforcing best practices and results.
- Benchmark and create emulation between sales personnel.
- Assemble, disseminate and leverage market intelligence
- Provide product observations and feedback to applicable colleagues
- Proactive communication with industry influentials, contributors, and institutions alike
REQUIRED SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
- The successful candidate has the ability to serve as a dairy consultant – understanding the needs of both our dealerships and dairy producers, providing appropriate activities & solutions based on DeLaval’s marketing offering and product lines.
- Competitive and outgoing with commercial orientation
- Strong communicator with ability to influence others
- Self-starter, working well individually as well as in a team.
- Ability to travel, predominantly throughout Ontario with occasional travel elsewhere
EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND
- B.A./B.S. in Animal Science, Sales, Marketing or other relevant degree
- 3-5 years of sales experience supporting a distribution channel
- Basic knowledge and familiarity with dairy production considered an asset
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a definite asset and is preferred
