JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior HR Generalist in our Waggaman, LA location who will support the day-to-day administration of core HR functions with a focus on employee relations, compliance, onboarding, and process improvement. This role partners closely with HR leadership to ensure consistent, compliant, and employee-focused HR practices while serving as a trusted resource to managers and employees.
Requirements
Recruiting and Onboarding
- Support recruiting and onboarding activities, primarily for non-exempt roles, as assigned.
- Lead assigned portions of new hire training and welcome week programming and partner with other HR Generalist on cross-training to support onboarding coverage and continuity.
- Coordinate and attend and local job fair and workforce events.
Employee Relations and HR Support
- Provide guidance to managers on routine HR issues, policy interpretation, and employee lifecycle matters.
- Support investigations, documentation, and follow-up related to employee concerns.
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee relations matters, escalating complex issues to HR leadership.
HR Operations and Compliance
- Maintain HR records and ensure data integrity within the HRIS.
- Maintain accurate time and attendance records, ensuring all employee hours, leave, and schedule data are properly tracked, verified, and submitted in accordance with company policies.
- Support audits, reporting and compliance initiatives.
- Assist with policy administration, creation and updates.
- Partner with HR leadership on process improvements and documentation.
Employee Lifecycle Management and Offboarding
- Own the tracking of progressions and administration of operator progression levels, including facilitating monthly readiness reviews and processing approved progression-related changes within systems.
- Manage the offboarding processes, including exit coordination, documentation system updates and compliance steps.
- Conduct or coordinate exit interviews and summarize trends for HR leadership.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee status changes.
Projects and Continuous Improvement
- Participates in HR projects such as HRIS implementation support, process redesign, training initiatives and program

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive HR generalist experience.
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- High level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience working within robust HRIS systems preferred. Knowledge of Paylocity is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience supporting HR operations in represented environment preferred.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, and rules of composition and grammar.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR
- Current TWIC card

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 yrs Employee Investigation Experience
- 2 yrs Benefits Administration and Timekeeping Experience
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and initiative in addressing equipment issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
