Job Description
Xenith Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Data Architect to deliver critical enterprise reference data to enhance command and control (C2), logistics, transportation, deployment, and financial systems. Xenith provides full lifecycle IT services including systems engineering, software development, database administration, cybersecurity, system sustainment, data governance, and customer support.

Responsibilities
The Data Architect is responsible for overseeing enterprise reference data governance, logical data modeling, and the integration of TRDM reference data into USTRANSCOM’s Enterprise Logical Data Model, ensuring alignment with Joint Distribution and Deployment Architecture standards. This role supports Requirements Review Board processes and maintains the integrity, security, and usability of data across classified and unclassified environments. The Data Architect also leads analytical efforts by evaluating data models, conducting experiments on structured and unstructured data, and developing predictive algorithms to enhance operational KPIs. By identifying patterns and trends, the architect transforms complex data into actionable insights that drive mission and business value.
 

Education Requirements
  • BS or BA degree OR four (4) additional years of related experience.

  • IAT Level II: Security+ CE
  • One or more of the following certifications:

    • AWS Certified Security – Specialty

Minimum Years of Experience

Required Skills
  • Data Modeling and Architecture Design – Proficiency in translating functional requirements into logical and physical data models using tools like Erwin, with the ability to support and align with USTRANSCOM’s Enterprise Logical Data Model (ELDM).
  • Authoritative Data Source Identification – Experience identifying and validating authoritative sources of reference data, and ensuring proper documentation and traceability in accordance with governance standards.
  • Metadata and Data Standards Development – Ability to define, manage, and enforce metadata standards, naming conventions, and data definitions to support consistency across enterprise systems.
  • Requirements Documentation and Review – Skilled in developing Data Change Requests (DCRs), supporting Requirements Review Boards (RRBs), and creating interface control documentation to guide TRDM integration and maintenance activities.

Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with DoD Data Governance Frameworks – Experience working within Department of Defense data governance structures, including participation in data stewardship forums and compliance with policies such as USTRANSCOM’s Data Management Policy (USTC Instruction 6600.05).
  • Expertise in Data Integration for Logistics and C2 Systems – Understanding of logistics, command and control (C2), and transportation data domains, including how reference data flows between systems in the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE).
  • Experience with Secure, Multi-Network Environments (NIPR/SIPR) – Prior experience designing and managing data in multi-network environments, including knowledge of synchronizing reference data between unclassified (NIPRNet) and classified (SIPRNet) systems.
