1. Machine Operation and Monitoring
- Operate Conversion Machines:
- Run Kraft paper conversion machines that include mechanical systems, electrical controls, and pneumatic components, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Monitor Machine Performance:
- Continuously monitor machine parameters, such as speed, pressure, and temperature, to ensure proper functioning and timely adjustments.
- Machine Adjustments:
- Perform minor adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency, including speed and feed adjustments to align with production requirements.
2. Quality Control
- Inspect Finished Products:
- Conduct quality checks on finished Kraft paper products to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
- Troubleshoot Quality Issues:
- Detect and troubleshoot any quality issues during the production process, including defects, material inconsistencies, or machine malfunctions.
- Document Quality Deviations:
- Record and report any product deviations from quality standards and work with supervisors and maintenance to implement corrective actions.
3. Machine Maintenance Support
- Preventive Maintenance Assistance:
- Assist the maintenance team in performing routine preventive maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing minor parts on mechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Report Malfunctions:
- Immediately report any significant machine malfunctions or breakdowns to the maintenance team and production supervisor to avoid prolonged downtime.
- Basic Repairs:
- Perform basic repairs and adjustments to machines when necessary, following established procedures and under the guidance of the maintenance team.
4. Production Reporting
- Track Production Output:
- Record production metrics such as output, machine downtime, and material usage, ensuring accurate documentation for each shift.
- Log Operational Data:
- Ensure all production transactions and machine activity are logged in SAP ERP or similar software to maintain accurate production records.
- Communicate with Production Leader / Production Supervisor:
- Provide regular updates to production leader or production supervisor on production progress, quality issues, and machine performance.
5. Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to Safety Procedures:
- Follow all safety protocols, including Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, when working on or near equipment to ensure personal and team safety.
- Use of PPE:
- Always ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Machine Safety Checks:
- Conduct safety checks on machines before and after each shift to ensure they are functioning safely and correctly.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Identify Process Improvements:
- Proactively identify opportunities for improving machine performance, reducing waste, and optimizing the production process.
- Collaboration with Team:
- Work closely with the production team to share ideas for improving operational efficiency and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
MAIN TASKS
- The Machine Operator is responsible for efficiently operating and monitoring kraft paper conversion machines, performing minor adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Key tasks include conducting quality checks, assisting with preventive maintenance, tracking production metrics, and adhering to safety protocols.
- The operator collaborates with the production team to identify process improvements and ensure consistent product quality while minimizing downtime and waste.
Education and Experience:
- SPM or Equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machinery operation or industrial maintenance is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience operating industrial machinery, ideally in a manufacturing environment with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working in a Kraft paper conversion facility or similar manufacturing environment such as corrugated box manufacturing and flexible packaging is a plus.

- Proficient in operating machines with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic controls, as well as basic machine troubleshooting.

- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, particularly in identifying and resolving machine-related issues.
