- Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours) or ETS ParaPro Assessment. A passing score of 460 is required

- Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
- Basic knowledge of diabetes management or willingness to undergo training.
- Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor the student's blood glucose levels using provided equipment (e.g., continuous glucose monitor or finger-stick tests) as required.
- Administer insulin via injection or pump under the supervision of the school nurse or per the student's diabetes care plan.
- Recognize and respond to signs of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia, following appropriate protocols.
- Collaborate with the site directors, teachers, and family to ensure the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan is effectively implemented.
- Maintain accurate records of glucose readings, insulin administration, and other relevant health data.
- Assist the student with managing dietary needs, including carbohydrate counting and meal/snack monitoring.
- Participate in training related to diabetes management, emergency response, and other relevant topics.
- Support that administration of medication in the office at the direction of site directors.
- Keep accurate records of all medications administered.
- When not needed for 1:1 care, will support our other classrooms as directed by the site directors.
- Provides academic and/or behavioral support to students who need additional assistance.
- Become directly involved with and interact with students on classroom projects and special activities as modeled by the classroom teacher.
- Prepare instructional materials under the direction of the teacher and/or site director(s) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate records of student progress.
- Work with students in the class with curriculum tasks and assignments guiding and helping but not teaching.
- Under teacher supervision, work with students to reinforce and master materials initially introduced by the teacher.
- Under the direction of the teacher, assist in supervising, interacting, and working directly with students in the classroom and other settings (ie: lunchroom, playground, band/music/art/technology rooms, gym, library, field trips, and/or other areas).
- Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of students.
- Ensure students are supported emotionally during summer school.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Implement PBIS program components to support students academic, behavior, and attendance goals.
- Facilitate and supervise students' daily enrichment activities as outlined in the summer program schedule.
- Supervise students during all on-site enrichment assemblies and activities as well as all off-site field trips following all program guidelines to ensure student safety.
- Attend all scheduled days of the summer discovery program including professional development training.
- Perform other duties and functions as assigned by the classroom teacher and/or site directors.
- June 26th (8 am - 4 pm)
- July 6 - July 31, Monday - Friday;
- Staff hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week / daily schedule set by the Summer School Site Director.
- Student Hours: 8:00 a.m.� 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, Staff hours may be flexed 30 mins before or 30 mins after student hours depending on the Site Director (s) scheduling.
- August 3- Monday (8am- 4 pm)
- All staff are required to attend 2 days (8 hours a day) of mandatory paid training as notated above.
- All paraprofessionals will be given a 15 minute relief period each day on non-field trip days, and duty free lunch on non-field trips days (30 min/day).
