    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Position Title:  Paraprofessional - Regular Education - In School Suspension Supervisor
    Location:         Chiddix Junior High School
    Department:   Building Personnel
    Reports to:     Principal/Assistant Principal
    FLSA Class:    Non-Exempt
    FTE:                  1.0


    SUMMARY

    Monitor students assigned to the In-School Suspension Program and establish effective rapport with students to motivate pupils to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to
    ensure a safe and orderly school environment.

    DUTIES

    1. Communicate with referring teacher regarding support needed
    2. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students
    3. Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner
    4. Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees & students
    5. Provide following support:
    6. Provide academic support, time to work on assignments, and behavioral resources to keep students engaged
    7. Supervision of independent student work and assessments
    8. Supervision of technology-based lessons being used in classrooms
    9. Monitor attendance and behavior of students
    10. Assist with process of student re-entry into the classroom
    11. Trained in trauma informed practices and restorative practices

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Must have a valid Paraprofessional license registered with the Regional Office of Education #17 at the time of hire.
    2. Must have excellent Oral and Written communication skills to work with teachers, education support personnel, building administrators and the general public.
    3. Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
    4. Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.
    5. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
    6. Requires employee to have the ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
    7. Must be detailed oriented.


    Compensation:
    Per the 2026-2027 Teaching Assistant Salary Schedule, the starting pay range is $19.48 - $22.40 per hour and is based upon experience.
