Success in a Store Manager: 

Financials

  • The Store Manager is responsible for analyzing financials to drive revenues, increase future profitability, and maximize return on investment.

  • The Store Manager is responsible for consistent correspondence regarding store financials with the Operations Manager and Vice President of Travel Centers & C-Stores.

 

Team Development

  • This role is responsible for training, mentoring, and assigning mentors to new hires or candidates eligible for promotion.

  • The Store Manager is responsible for recognizing potential leaders and promoting/mentoring them into leadership roles.

  • This role is responsible for overseeing systems and procedures and making sure to educate the team accordingly.

  • The Store Manager is responsible for recruiting and interviewing applicants for all positions within Fat Dogs.

 

Team/Servant Leadership

  • This role is responsible for setting up, directing, and communicating with all shifts.

  • The Store Manager is responsible for creating a schedule that accommodates the team and for covering role deficiencies during teammate absences/breaks. 
  • This role is responsible for creating and fostering a culture in the store that services the guest above and beyond their expectations.
  • This role is responsible for providing guest relations training for the team that aligns with the company's core values, store culture, and ultimately creating experience excellence. 

 

Executing on Brand Standards

  • This role is responsible for executing on brand standards developed and communicated by the President, Vice President, and Director of Operations of the Travel Centers and C-Stores.
  • The Store Manager is responsible for communicating and educating the brand standards to the team and creating a cohesive culture promoting and adhering to these standards.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to be Class A/B certified for UST fuel certification.
  • Must be willing to take RBST training as required to sell tobacco and alcohol.
  • Must be willing to be FoodSafe certified.
  • Retail and/or guest experience preferred.

Summary

The Store Manager is responsible for the overall operations of their respective Fat Dogs Travel Center. This role reports directly to the Director of Operations and/or the Vice President of the Travel Centers and C-Stores.
