Job Description

**POSITION SUMMARY**  

The individual in this role observes guests in the pool and performs necessary rescue practices to ensure their safety, in compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. This position requires monitoring the pool area to maintain a safe environment for guests using the pool and Jacuzzi facilities and providing assistance to guests in need of rescue.



**EXAMPLES OF DUTIES**  



**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**  

- Conducts all opening procedures, including obtaining pool keys, unlocking cabinets, and arranging chairs.

- Cleans, sets up, and moves all pool equipment as needed.

- Monitors the pool area to ensure a safe environment for guests and members.

- Provides rescue assistance to guests when required, which may include administering first aid or CPR.

- Picks up, stocks, restocks, and returns all pool towels.

- Cleans and vacuums the pool, Jacuzzi, deck, and tiles. Handles, stores, and uses all chemicals safely and according to protocol.

- Assists guests and members by providing seating, towels, and informing them about the amenities and property information.

- Reports any maintenance deficiencies to the Engineering department for corrective action.

- Addresses guest complaints directly or involves management when necessary.



**SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS**  

In addition to the essential functions, this position may involve performing a combination of the following supportive functions:  

- Managing all lost and found items.  

- Responding appropriately in any emergency or safety situation.  

- Attending department and other meetings as required.  

- Completing other tasks or projects as assigned by management.  

- Carrying out frequent physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, crouching, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.  

- Maintaining constant physical abilities such as hearing and near vision.



**SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**  

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to demonstrate their capability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:  

- Understanding of the use of chemicals.  

- Ability to perform lifesaving techniques, including first aid and CPR.  

- Proficiency in reading, listening, and communicating effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.  

- Capability to effectively engage with internal and external customers, often requiring high levels of tact, diplomacy, and patience to defuse anger, gather information, and resolve conflicts.  

- Willingness to work in an enclosed environment with potential exposure to chemicals used in pools.
