SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Senior Financial Analyst will support cost accounting activities, month end close processes, journal entry preparation and review, and financial planning and analysis. This role will partner with operations and finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, disciplined cost control, and timely management insights. This positions reports the Accounting Manager in New Bedford.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support product and manufacturing cost accounting, including standard cost setting, cost rollups, and variance analysis
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP and internal control requirements
- Support month end and quarter end close activities, including account reconciliations and financial statement analysis
- Analyze inventory transactions, manufacturing variances, and overhead absorption
- Coordinate with operations and supply chain teams to understand cost drivers and production performance
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
- Prepare financial analysis and reporting for management, including explanations of actuals versus forecast and plan
- Assist with internal and external audit requests related to cost accounting and financial reporting
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to financial processes, controls, and reporting accuracy
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA and/or CPA is preferred
- 3 -5 years’ experience
- Strong knowledge of standard costing and manufacturing accounting concepts
- Experience supporting month end close and journal entry processes
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively with finance and operations stakeholders
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively
The pay range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000
