Job Description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.

Our Hagan house, located in Catskill, is the home to eight wonderful people, who love to spend time with staff -- and LOVE to be busy! The staff at Hagan are always a part of the fun, whether they are watching movies together, exploring recipes and baking cookies or cakes, or coming up with ideas for a new arts and crafts project!

In the summer, the staff and individuals at Hagan are able to get outside and enjoy their beautiful back yard. You can look forward to spending time on the oversized deck, or plan a BBQ for all to enjoy -- and play some yard games, which is always a hit! A trip to Lake George in the summertime is also something everyone looks forward to, from the boat rides, to walking around the village and shopping!

A high school diploma or GED is desired.  Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus.  An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must.  An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment.  Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
