Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Corporate Director, Integrated Operational Excellence (iOPEX), acts as a strategic leader and change agent, driving the sustainable adoption of a culture of operational excellence across the organization. The role is responsible for the harmonized deployment of iOPEX practices, the development of organizational capabilities, and the continuous improvement of operational performance, in close collaboration with the company’s sites, business units, and corporate functions.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Operational Excellence (iOPEX).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and culture
• Define and deploy the iOPEX strategic framework across the organization.
• Act as a thought leader and reference in operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Influence and mobilize senior leadership teams in a multi-site environment.

iOPEX systems and practices
• Deploy and evolve key practices, including DMS, standardization, reliability, and root cause analysis.
• Integrate Lean Six Sigma approaches in a pragmatic, results-driven manner.

Capability development
• Build organizational capabilities in problem-solving and fact-based decision-making.
• Coach and develop operational leaders.
• Foster the sharing of best practices across sites.

Automation and innovation
• Coordinate and prioritize corporate automation initiatives.
• Ensure alignment between automation efforts, performance improvement, and business objectives.

Integrated approach
• Collaborate closely with Health and Safety, Environment, Sustainability, and Process Optimization teams.
• Promote a consistent and sustainable approach to operational excellence.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

•    Bachelor's degree in engineering

•    Specialized training in Lean Six Sigma, Green Belt level (Black Belt preferred)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

·         Strong, engaging leadership with high credibility among senior executives.

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Strong analytical and synthesis skills supporting sound decision-making.

·         High level of rigor, results orientation, and ability to lead change.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

·         10 to 15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (operations, quality, maintenance, engineering).

·         Multi-site experience considered an asset.

·         Knowledge of the pulp and paper industry considered an asset.

 

LANGUAGES

 

·         Fluency in both French and English is required.

Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
