G’day, we’re Mosh & Moshy.
Our mission is to get Aussies the best possible health outcomes through best-in-class health programs. We know the current healthcare system is not meeting the needs of the modern Australian, and we reckon there’s a better, more holistic way. Our solutions for hair loss, sexual health, skin care, mental health and weight management are easy, accessible and completely discreet.
More than a job
There’s nothing better than the feeling that what you’re doing matters and makes a difference. We’re pretty lucky that this is the norm, not the exception.
Reporting to the CTO, this Engineering Manager will lead a high-performing team – shaping both the systems we build and the way we build them.
This is a people-first leadership role. You’ll create an environment where engineers can do their best work, while holding a high bar for quality across performance, scalability, security and reliability. You’ll work closely with product, design and engineering leadership to deliver meaningful product outcomes – balancing delivery with long-term thinking, and helping Mosh & Moshy scale with confidence.
What you’ll do
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of engineers — fostering a culture of trust, accountability and psychological safety
- Guide the team through complex technical and architectural decisions, supporting thoughtful, scalable solutions
- Drive initiatives across performance, reliability, security and developer experience
- Improve engineering processes to increase efficiency, predictability and quality of delivery
- Champion observability and operational excellence, applying SRE principles across our systems
- Advocate for the right engineering investments – maintaining quality without compromising delivery
- Partner closely with product, design and leadership to align on priorities and contribute to roadmap planning
- Support hiring and onboarding in partnership with People & Culture – building a strong, cohesive team
- Contribute to evolving our engineering standards, practices and culture as we scale
Experience you’ll bring
We’re looking for an experienced engineering leader who is equally comfortable supporting people and shaping systems.
You’ll likely bring:
- 8+ years’ experience in software engineering, including 2+ years managing teams of 5+ engineers
- Strong experience designing and scaling modern frontend architectures
- Deep experience with React, JavaScript runtimes and/or React Native ecosystems
- Experience defining and delivering engineering roadmaps aligned to product goals
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability and architectural patterns
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and modern development workflows
- Experience with observability tools (e.g. Datadog) and driving operational excellence
- Strong stakeholder management, with experience partnering across product, ops and customer-facing teams
Nice to have:
- Experience with security best practices in web and cloud environments
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform), Docker, Kubernetes
- Exposure to Domain Driven Design and resilience patterns
- Experience working with GenAI / ML technologies
- Experience in healthtech or other regulated environments
How you work
- You’re a people-first leader – you create an environment where engineers feel supported and empowered
- You balance delivery with quality, and aren’t afraid to hold the line when it matters
- You think strategically, but stay close enough to the work to guide effectively
- You communicate clearly and bring stakeholders along the journey
- You’re comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment
- You lead with curiosity, accountability and a strong sense of ownership
- You encourage transparency, feedback and continuous improvement
What’s on offer
Flexible working: We support a mix of in-office, hybrid and remote working across Australia. If you’re Sydney-based, you’ll typically spend 3 days in our Surry Hills office – it’s a great space to collaborate – with flexibility to work from home.
You’ll also enjoy
- Access to on-demand training and development
- Up to 16 weeks paid parental leave
- Product discounts
- Two extra days of annual leave each year
- Purpose leave (mental health or L&D)
- EAP and wellbeing programs
- ClassPass discount
Better, together
We value diversity of thought, background, and perspective. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
