Job Description

Kraken Robotics is currently seeking a Junior Reliability Specialist to join our team in Mount Pearl, NL.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform Reliability focused activities, such as: Reliability Analysis, Failure Modes Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis (RCMA), and Life Cycle Costing (LCC) Analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of reliability predictions using tools such as Reliasoft and standards including but not limited to MIL-HDBK-217F.
  • Assist in implementing reliability practices into product design, testing, and sustainment processes.
  • Collaborate with global teams (Canada, Germany, US) to collect and validate reliability data from fielded systems.
  • Support the ILS team in sustainment planning by providing inputs to availability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost models.
  • Maintaining a customer focus to ensure that requirements and expectations are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Contribute to the development of reliability-related policies, processes, and best practices within Kraken.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Naval, Mechanical or Electrical) or Applied Mathematics, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent Navy Certification. Relevant experience in the reliability and supportability field.
  • Coursework, training, or certification in reliability engineering (e.g., ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer, SAE/SMRP, or equivalent) is considered a strong asset.
  • Familiar with reliability analysis tools and methodologies such as FMEA, RAM analysis, fault tree analysis (FTA), root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with subject matter experts, colleagues, clients, and users
  • Skills working in a self-directed manner in a team environment, including personal workload management (organizing and prioritizing)
  • Excellent time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines in a high-paced environment
  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance

Preferred Skills

  • LSAR Software experience: OmegaPS, GenS
  • Reliability software experience: PTC Windchill or Reliasoft
  • Other software experience: Omega Analyzer, OPUS10
  • Good knowledge in the use of the MS Suite of tools
