Job Description

Location:    Stafford, Virginia

Dark Horse is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support a Navy Program by transforming housing data into actionable insights that improve program performance and resident services. This role focuses on developing dashboards, analyzing operational and engagement data, and delivering clear, data-driven recommendations to support leadership decision-making.

The ideal candidate will apply advanced analytics to identify trends, support strategic planning, and enhance data integration efforts, ensuring accurate and timely operational insight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized data analytics support to Program initiatives by collecting, organizing, and preparing housing operations data, performance metrics, and customer engagement sources for government review. Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with federal data standards.
  • Develop and maintain draft dashboards and data visualizations to support leadership decision-making.
  • Translate complex data into draft analytical products and summaries that identify trends and potential impacts to housing policy, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with government staff to ensure alignment between contractor analysis and program goals.
  • Support enterprise-level data integration initiatives by preparing draft metadata documentation, assisting with data modeling, and providing process improvement recommendations for government consideration.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in data science
  • A Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with data visualization (Tableau, Power BI) and version control (Git).
  • Expertise in housing analytics, dashboard development, predictive modeling, and visualization tools to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
  • Experience working with CNIC housing data systems and metrics, including eMH, is preferred.
  • Strong skills in data integrity management, automation, and federal reporting standards are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is required.
