Job Description










Position Purpose 



The Primary School Spanish Teacher is responsible for cultivating a Christ centered learning environment that aligns a curriculum of teaching Spanish with a biblical worldview. 




 













Essential Functions 





  • Uphold the mission and vision statement of Liberty Christian School (LCS).  







  • Demonstrate mastery of the subject material. 







  • Love and pray daily for the children, parents, and LCS staff.  







  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. 







  • Submit lesson plans to administration.  







  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that are in accordance with established learning standards.  







  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. 







  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.  







  • Use relevant technology to support classroom instruction and learning. 







  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the different learning styles and needs of students.  







  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures that align with the standards established in the Warrior Way.  







  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.  







  • Participate in appropriate professional development activities.  







  • Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.  







  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committee as required. 







  • Adhere to the Student Protection Policy (SPP) procedures and trainings.

Qualifications 





  • Bachelor’s degree or post graduate work in subject matter preferred, or 15 hours college credit in subject area. 







  • Teacher Certification via Association of Christian Schools International to be completed within the first year. 







  • State Teacher Certification preferred, but not required.  







  • Effective classroom management. 







  • Excellent technology skills to support classroom instruction and student learning. 







  • Positive attitude and empathetic perspective. 







  • Ability to act as a team player. 







  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written). 







  • Ability to instruct and model desirable skills and attitude. 







  • Ability to remain productive and maintain control under stress.  







  • Ability to maintain a clear focus on a positive student experience. 







  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google.  







  • Christian role model. 






 













Physical Requirements and Work Environment  





  • Works in an environment with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts. 







  • May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.  







  • Regularly use close and distance vision.  







  • May stand for extended periods of time.  







  • Works primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.  







  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. 







  • Full-time, 10-month position August – May.
