Haverhill Public Schools Dr. Paul Nettle Middle School is seeking a dedicated and engaging After-School Enrichment Teacher to support 7th and 8th grade students across core academic areas, including Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies. Position Overview: The After-School Enrichment Program is designed to provide targeted academic support and enrichment opportunities for students who would benefit from additional instruction and skill development. This program focuses on reinforcing key concepts, improving student confidence, and supporting overall academic success. Program Details: Schedule: 3 days per week Duration: 1 hour per session Program End Date: June 11, 2026 Start Date: [Insert Start Date] Student Focus: Grades 7 and 8 Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in Math, ELA, Science, and/or Social Studies Provide targeted support to students based on identified academic needs Use a variety of instructional strategies to increase student engagement and participation Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment Communicate with administration regarding student progress and attendance Qualifications: Valid teaching certification (preferred) Experience working with middle school students (grades 7–8) Strong instructional practices across one or more core subject areas Ability to build positive relationships with students Commitment to supporting student growth and achievement


 


Statement of Duties:



  • Provides small group instruction.

  • Participates in co-planning sessions.

  • Works with other support specialists to collect and/or disseminate student assessment information.

  • The Tutor is expected to diagnose student weaknesses and develop IEP Goals.

  • Responsible for instructional and general duties as indicated by the Curriculum Supervisors, and directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.


                                                             


Qualifications:



  • Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education required.

  • Knowledge of middle school philosophy, organization, and curriculum.

  • Understanding of the middle school student and his/her early adolescent needs.

  • Knowledge of recommended middle school instructional practices.

  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
