Health, Safety, and Security Coordinator
Ashley Furniture is looking for a dedicated and proactive Safety Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be a vital part of our mission to ensure the well-being of every employee. You'll support the Safety Department by promoting a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and serving as a key resource for our team members.

 

What You'll Do:
  • Be a Safety Champion: Conduct safety audits, investigate incidents, and analyze data to identify trends and prevent future occurrences.
  • Ensure Compliance: Stay up-to-date with OSHA and other regulatory standards, updating company policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Train and Educate: Develop and lead safety training for new hires and current employees, including monthly supervisor safety training, ensuring our team is knowledgeable and prepared.
  • Engage with Employees: Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees, addressing their safety concerns, answering questions, and resolving issues with professionalism and care.
  • Provide On-the-Ground Support: Respond to and evaluate work-related injuries, providing first aid and coordinating further medical care when necessary.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Worker's Compensation department to review and investigate work-related injury claims, ensuring a smooth and supportive process for our employees.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing health and safety role is required.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA laws, accident investigation techniques, and safety audit programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train, influence, and connect with employees at all levels.
  • A keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills, especially in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
