About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual to take ownership of the upkeep and beauty of our family property. This is not a traditional landscaping gig; we are looking for a long-term partner who treats our grounds and equipment as if they were their own. This is a W-2 employee position; we are not seeking contractors or landscaping companies.
As our Private Groundskeeper, you will be a vital part of our daily operations, ensuring the property is pristine, functional, and well-maintained. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in craftsmanship, and thrives in a quiet, private environment. This person will also be assisting with livestock care when needed and supporting basic barn or farm tasks as needed.
The "Why"
Ownership: You won’t just be following a checklist; you will be the eyes and ears of the property.
Stability: We are looking for a permanent addition to our family ecosystem.
Growth: This role starts at 20 hours per week with the possibility of a transition into a full-time position as property needs evolve.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform routine mowing, edging, weeding, and seasonal planting. Ensure flower beds, trees, and shrubs are healthy and manicured.
Assist with general farm tasks (e.g., fence repair, trail clearing, or basic animal care assistance if applicable).
Identify and execute small-scale repairs.
Perform basic upkeep on property tools.
A 1-hour evening check to ensure gates are secure, livestock/animals are settled (if applicable), and the property is ready for the night.
This role is best suited for someone who naturally notices what needs to be done and takes initiative to complete it without needing to be asked.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years in landscaping, facility maintenance, or a "handyman" role.
Ability to walk the property, identify what needs to be fixed, and execute without constant supervision.
Since this is a split-shift role, consistent punctuality is a must.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
Must pass a background check and drug screening, as you will be working closely with a private family.
