Position Summary

The Kona Ice Driver/Server is responsible for safely operating a Kona Ice truck to scheduled events while providing outstanding customer service. This role combines driving, food service, event setup, and brand promotion. Drivers create a fun, energetic atmosphere while serving shaved ice and ensuring each guest has a positive experience. $15 p/h + tips!

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Truck Operations

• Safely drive the Kona Ice truck to scheduled events, schools, neighborhoods, and private parties
• Follow assigned routes and event schedules
• Perform basic truck setup and breakdown at each event
• Ensure truck cleanliness, organization, and readiness for service
• Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures

Customer Service & Serving

• Greet customers with enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Take orders and serve shaved ice quickly and accurately
• Handle cash and card payments responsibly
• Maintain a fun, engaging environment consistent with the Kona Ice brand
• Interact professionally with event hosts, school staff, and customers

Event Setup & Support

• Arrive on time and prepared for each event
• Assist with stocking ice, syrups, cups, and supplies
• Maintain clean and sanitary food service practices
• Work efficiently during busy rush periods
• Represent the Kona Ice brand in a professional manner

Cleaning & Maintenance

• Clean and sanitize equipment according to health guidelines
• Keep truck interior and exterior clean
• Report any mechanical or equipment issues promptly

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Comfortable driving a large truck
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Ability to work outdoors in warm weather
• Ability to lift up to 25–40 lbs (ice bags, supplies)
• Must be at least 18 years old (21+ preferred for insurance purposes)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service, food service, or event experience
• Experience driving larger vehicles
• Friendly, outgoing personality
• Comfortable working independently
