About the Department

The Town of West Point Treasurer's Office is seeking an individual to fill a Treasurer's Office Clerk position with the specific assignment of Utility Billing Clerk.  

JOB SUMMARY
Treasurer's Office Clerk provides clerical assistance to the Treasurer's Department and includes specific assignments as DMV Clerk, Utilities Billing Clerk, and Clerical Assistant.
Computer related experience, professional communication and public relation skills are a must and requires attention to detail.   

Starting Salary:  $37870.71
Grade: 12


Position Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Processes various payments and account statements to include collections of DMV, utility, and tax collection payments
  • Processes bank deposits
  • Answers telephone calls and directs calls accordingly
  • Operates office machines as required
  • Assists with administrative tasks
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies; orders supplies as needed

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting
  • Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public
  • Computer Skills
  • Good oral communication skills
Licenses or Certifications: 
The National Incident Management Association (NIMS) is a standardized approach to
incident management development by the United States Department of Homeland
Security. The following employees: General Employee (Non-Exempt Positions) must
complete the following independent study courses to maintain NIMS training
requirements: ICS-100 and ICS-700. ICS 200 and ICS 800 may be required dependent
on the position and needs of the department.
 All incident management training must be completed within 6 months of employment.
