We're seeking a Lead Product Designer to serve as the senior design leader responsible for overseeing our design team and driving overall design strategy and execution. This is a strategic leadership role that balances team management, design process optimization, and hands-on design work. You’ll collaborate closely with executive leadership and the broader product team to ensure design excellence across all initiatives while mentoring and developing high-performing designers.
This role is based in San Francisco. We are opening our SF office in the coming weeks - and we'll be operating as a hybrid work model.
Key Responsibilities
Team & Process Management
Oversee and mentor the design team, fostering their professional development
Optimize design processes and workflows for maximum efficiency and quality
Plan and prioritize design projects in alignment with business objectives
Track project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time delivery
Maintain design documentation and assets for team accessibility
Design & Prototyping
Contribute hands-on design work including prototype development in Figma
Create wireframes and design specifications using Figma and Claude
Conduct and support focus group sessions and user research initiatives
Collaborate with Product team on discovery sessions
Stay current with design trends and industry best practices
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with executive leadership on strategic design initiatives
Work closely with the Product team to align design with business goals
Communicate design decisions and rationale across the organization
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a design leader or senior designer managing teams
Expert proficiency in Figma (prototyping and wireframing)
Experience with Claude for design collaboration
Strong understanding of research and testing methodologies
Familiarity with analytics tools (Mixpanel, Clarity)
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities
Startup experience with demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with shifting priorities
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $160,000 – $185,000
