1Category Specialist delivers strategic sourcing and supplier management activities for assigned categories, driving cost, performance, and value in alignment with business objectivesAs Category Specialist for the Oronite R&D Plant in the Netherlands you will support the key procurement categories which include:
· Engineering Services (CAPEX & small projects)
· Asset Maintenance & Repair Services (incl. critical/OEM maintenance)
· Laboratory Services (outsourced testing & analysis)
· Engine Testing Services & Technical Services
· Engine Spares & OEM Parts (incl. critical spares optimization)
· Professional Services
You will also be responsible for the contracting process for the assigned categories, in alignment with Chevron policies and procedures.
In this role, you will work with our key stakeholders on projects to provide market intelligence, identify total cost of ownership (TCO) and value-chain opportunities. This will also include supporting sourcing activities, negotiations and contribute to supplier performance management.
As our new Category Specialist, you will partner with the local Category specialist and regional procurement teams to align and share best practices.
Your key responsibilities will be to
- Execute the contracting process for assigned categories in alignment with Chevron policies and procedures.
Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and team members.
Build effective supplier relationships.
Create sourcing strategies, perform category analysis, monitor market dynamics, and identify total cost of ownership (TCO) and value chain opportunities.
Lead and support sourcing activities, negotiations, and supplier performance management.
Support the delivery of target savings and other value chain benefits within the assigned categories.
Your qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supplier development, or supply chain.
- Proven success in cost reduction and implementing contracting and category strategies.
- A “can-do” attitude when facing adverse situations.
- Commercial acumen across operational and financial perspectives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a bridge between suppliers, internal and external customers, and potentially competitors.
- Robust analytical skills, highly organized, and results-oriented.
- Business fluency in Dutch and English.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
