Position: Chicago Bears Drumline Member

About the Role
This is a part-time, hourly, position within the Chicago Bears Events & Game Presentation department. Chicago Bears Drumline Members will perform as a drumline while delivering enthusiastic, outgoing, and infectious energy and representing the Chicago Bears in a positive and impactful manner. Select members will perform at every Chicago Bears home game at Soldier Field with the goal of enhancing the fan experience through positive, energetic fan interaction.
The ideal candidate will reside locally. There are no guaranteed number of hours, scheduling is set on a rehearsal and game basis as needed. This is a temporary position and is expected to last for the duration of the NFL season, reporting directly to the Manager of Talent & Game Presentation.
Audition Process: Qualified candidates will be required to complete an on demand video interview in mid-May and in person audition at Halas Hall (Lake Forest, IL) in mid-June 2026.
Responsibilities
- Perform at Chicago Bears home games at Soldier Field (locations and duration may vary, including in parking lots, pregame, in game, halftime, and postgame)
- Attend mandatory monthly rehearsals at Halas Hall (Lake Forest, IL) to learn music and choreography
- Read music and to learn new music selections and choreography in a timely manner (which may include outside of scheduled rehearsal time)
- Perform, entertain, engage, and interact with individuals and in front of large crowds
- Communicate effectively and as requested to Section Leads and Manager of Talent and Game Presentation regarding scheduling, appearance info, etc.
- Uphold and abide by all NFL and Chicago Bears regulations and Legends Global institutional policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Must be at least 17 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor Degree in Music or currently pursuing a degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of percussion experience required, with DCI/WGI/college marching band experience preferred.
- Must be able to read music fluently. With around 15 charts to perform, strong rhythmic reading and understanding are essential.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs frequently. Physical demands include running, lifting, standing for prolonged periods of time, and working in a variety of weather conditions. Must be willing and able to work in outdoor conditions regardless of weather conditions.
- Must be able to wear marching drums or hold cymbals for extended periods of time
- Required to be able to travel frequently to Soldier Field (Chicago, IL) and Halas Hall (Lake Forest, IL)
- Ability to tune or replace drumheads and do minor repairs on drumline equipment
- Must have strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Must be dependable, willing to take initiative and adapt to a variety of situations
- Must be lively, out-going, enthusiastic, positive, hardworking, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and capable in the ability to lead and be lead
- Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be passionate about the Chicago Bears and/or have a willingness to learn about the organization
