    GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
    As a member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET), the School Psychologist shall conduct, review, and summarize psycho-educational evaluations, report results, and consult with staff, students, and parents. Student counseling shall be provided, as appropriate.
     
    MAJOR DUTIES:
     
    The psychologist:

    1. Plans for the effective completion of related work duties.
    2. Administers individualized tests, and prepares evaluation reports according to Federal, State and district guidelines.
    3. Reviews out of district psycho-educational evaluations, including Consideration of Three Year Re-Evaluations, and other special reports.
    4. Communicates pertinent evaluation results to staff, students and parents.
    5. Participates in Consideration of Three Year Re-Evaluation placement staffing and review conferences, as needed.
    6. Provides individual and group counseling for students, as appropriate.
    7. Confers with parents regarding students' educational needs.
    8. Assists staff with developing educational strategies that facilitate/modify student learning and behavior.
    9. Participates on Referral Screening, Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET), Individualized Education Program (IEP), Functional Behavior Assessment, Self-Contained and Responsibility Hearing teams.
    10. Provides in-service to school personnel and peers.
    11. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Exceptional Student Programs/Designee.


     
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Hold a Master's degree (doctorate preferred).
    2. Possess Arizona School Psychologist certification.
    3. Have experience as a psychologist, psychometrist, teacher, or counselor.
    4. Have experience in individual and group counseling.
    5. Have experience in individual and group counseling.
    6. Have knowledge of Federal and State exceptional student laws.
