Position Summary
The Electronics Maintenance Technician shall provide organizational and intermediate maintenance with a primary focus on executing the aggressive Preventative Maintenance Program for all assigned Force Protection assets. This includes the hands-on servicing of SkyWatch XSF AT2 Watch Towers, MP5000 Portable Barriers, Slide Arm Barriers, and environmental systems (A/C and Generators). The technician is responsible for the daily "up-time" of equipment and must proactively identify part requirements to order and maintain adequate spare parts and tooling at their duty station.
The location for this position is OCONUS in Kuwait City, Kuwait.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collateral duties are essential to this role, specifically the rectification of service orders and the meticulous management of property accountability using PBUSE.
- The technician must ensure that the PM program is not merely a "check the box" activity but an aggressive effort to extend the lifecycle of expeditionary materiel.
- This position requires a high degree of mechanical proficiency in hydraulics and power generation to ensure the warfighter's security posture is never compromised.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering is preferred; however, this educational requirement can be substituted for four (4) or more years of equivalent, hands-on experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex Electrical/Mechanical systems.
- Military Requisite: Must possess a background in one of the following MOS/Ratings (or service equivalent) at a minimum rank of E-5 or above:
- USAF: 3E0X2 (Electrical Power Production), 3E1X1 (Heating, Ventilation, AC, and Refrigeration), or 2A6X6 (Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Systems).
- Army: 91D (Tactical Power Generation Specialist), 91C (Utilities Equipment Repairer), or 94F (Computer/Detection Systems Repairer).
- Navy: EM (Electrician's Mate), GSM (Gas Turbine Systems Technician-Mechanical), or ET (Electronics Technician).
- Minimum of 5 years in military power generation, hydraulics, or electronics maintenance.
- Must achieve 100% on-time completion of all assigned PM service orders.
- Maintain ≥98% accuracy in Class IX parts tracking and satellite site tool room inventories.
Citizenship and Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- An active Secret Security Clearance is required.
- Eligibility for regional travel visas.
Work Environment
- Must be capable of lifting at least 50lbs.
- Must be capable of standing and walking for long periods of time.
- 25%-50% travel required.
