Part Time Instructor - Advanced Manufacturing & Mechatronics


The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Instructor - Advanced Manufacturing & Mechatronics at our Waller Campus. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:

Job Summary 

Teaching Advanced Manufacturing & Mechatronics classes on the Waller campus and online. 


Principal Accountabilities

 
• Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations. 
 
• Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence. 
 
• Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication. 
 
• Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution. 
 
• Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources. 
 
• Advise students in academic matters. 
 
• Evaluate student performance through a variety of means to measure progress while informing students in a timely manner. 
 
• Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives. 
 
• Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Heads, and Curriculum Resource Teams regarding curriculum. 
 
• Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community. 
 
• Provide information requested of all faculty. 
 
• Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments. 
 
• Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities. 
 
• Possess a passion for teaching community college students. 
 
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and orally. 
 
• Attend college orientation and required institutional meetings. 
 
• Responsible for other related duties as assigned. 




Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications

Master's degree in engineering technology, engineering, computer or manufacturing engineering or a related field, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in a field above. 
OR 
Bachelor's degree in any of the fields/disciplines listed above and industry certification(s) in electronics, robotics or automation. 
OR 
Associate degree in any of the fields/disciplines listed above and 3 years non-teaching work experience in the related field or industry certification(s) in electronics, robotics or automation. 

All coursework must be from an accredited college or university.


Minimum Competencies

  • Teaching Experience (either at the college or secondary level) and/or Industry work experience 
  • Clearly explaining concepts, active listening, and providing constructive, immediate feedback. 
  • Creating a positive, safe, and collaborative learning environment that encourages student participation and self-management. 
  • Maintaining subject-matter expertise, engaging in continuous professional development, and demonstrating cultural competence. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry experience with Hands-on activities 
  • College teaching experience. 
  • Online teaching experience. 
  • Related industry certifications or licensure
