Job Description

Overall Responsibility: The Asset Management Practice lead is responsible for ownership of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Practice spanning all aspects of its P&L. This includes Asset Management technical expertise, business planning and budgeting, short term and long term strategic vision and planning, and mentorship for the team. The primary part of this role is pipeline management working with the marketing team to identify and position for new pursuits, identify teaming partners (sub and prime), play an active role in the proposal process (leading scope and fee proposals and technical approach for larger pursuits) and building a robust pipeline of opportunities for new work. The Asset Management Practice Lead must have the ability to respond to technical RFP’s, develop fee proposals and provide technical writing, as well as client management responsibilities after the sale. Additional contributions include effective coordination with project stakeholders, teaming partners, scheduling, and resourcing of the right staff to meet the project needs. Responsible for oversight and ensuring technical quality of work produced maintains a high-level standard of quality meeting corporate expectations. Builds a positive and supportive work environment for employees, and coordinates and collaborates with the other practices and business units.

The Asset Management practice is part of Arora’s “Enterprise Solutions Group” business unit (BU), which encompasses EAM, Geospatial, and Smart Infrastructure (SI) Groups.  EAM currently resides under a fully owned subsidiary of Arora called “Electronic Data, LLC (dba EDI)”.  This role will report into the SVP and BU Leader, and work closely with the Geospatial Practice Lead, as well as the CMO, CDO and Marketing team for the pursuit of new work.  It is estimated that approximately 50% of time will be spent on technical aspects including billable direct project tasks as Project Executive or Project Manager, oversite and time management of the team, and the balance on sales and marketing related duties to ensure the practices staff utilization and growth.  This is a “Seller-Doer” role.

Essential Functions:

  • Technical Leadership: Provides Asset Management technical leadership and guidance to the EDI team as the Practice Subject Matter Expert.
  • Culture Building: Manages and mentors a team to ensure they are motivated, productive, and aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Employee Retention and Morale: Creates high morale among employees.
  • Process improvement: Identifies areas for process improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with Project Managers and other Practice Leads to ensure that projects are properly staffed to ensure project success.
  • Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC): Establishes standards for Quality Assurances throughout design process. Oversees and contributes to Quality Control reviews at project milestones.
  • Business Development: Leads Salesforce Pipeline Management, identification and positioning of new opportunities, assists or leads with development of fee/scope of service proposals, technical writeups, presentations, interviews follow-through project execution.
  • Marketing:  Attends industry conference and trade shows to build the brand and develop new work.  Contributes to technical content of EAM marketing materials and website.  Leads EAM Business Plan in collaboration with the team.  Participates in technical speaking opportunities or articles with various industry associations or publications.
  • Client Management: Builds and maintains relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Recruiting: Assists with identification of needs, recruiting and hiring new staff to join the team.
  • Accountability: Ensures accountability of staff within Practice and reports to the SVP of Enterprise Solutions.
  • Staff Management: Reviews and evaluates performance of direct and indirect reports within Practice. Oversees staff utilization, skills matrix, and ensures that staff is appropriately allocated.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitors performance metrics and best practices.
  • Travel: Capable of traveling to project and client sites for presentations, interviews, design, and coordination meetings.
  • Other essential duties: required to fulfill the role in support of company goals and pursuits.
