1 year appointment (August 31, 2026 - June 30, 2027)

Position Purpose:

• Under the general supervision of special education and building administration, provide the speech and language services related to the needs of children.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual speech and language evaluations/intervention
• Assist classroom teachers in developing instructional techniques in the areas of speech and language development.
• Communicate with administrators, teachers, parents, and students regarding difficult speech and language problems.
• Maintain communication with speech and hearing agencies and participating schools in areas of diagnosis and remediation of speech, hearing, and language problems.
• Perform such other professional duties as may be assigned by the Special Education Department.

Work Schedule:

• Standard teacher work schedule as set forth in the agreement between the Fairport Educators Association and the Fairport Central School District.

Certification:

• New York State license as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)  (required).

Education:

• Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology (required).

Experience:

• Successful prior experience preferred.

Salary:

• As per the current Fairport Educators Association (FEA) contract, based on experience and education.
