Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the preparation, dispensing, and repackaging of medications
  • Procure medications accurately according to dispensation indicators
  • Prepackages and labels medications,
  • Maintain and replenish pharmacy automation systems
  • Assists in the maintenance of dispensation records
  • As directed by pharmacy management or designee, audit, review, file records of controlled substances, ensures compliance with regulations
  • Advises nursing and pharmacy administrators of controlled substance discrepancies
  • Assists in discrepancy resolution of controlled and non-controlled drugs
  • Ensures proper storage of pharmacy inventory and supplies
  • Issues controlled substances and prescription pads as per departmental policy under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
  • Ensures appropriate inventory on hand at all times and maintains required inventory levels
  • Obtains appropriate signatures when issuing/delivering controlled substances and prescription pads
  • Conduct medication deliveries as required
  • Performs related duties as required
  • Maintain continuing education as required

Requirements:

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required 

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current license as a registered pharmacy technician in New York State is required
  • PTCB or NHA certification is required

USD $31.27 - USD $39.09 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
