Job Summary:
The ESEP LEAD/SDI Coach is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment, overseen by the school principal, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.
All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. Moreover, they must embody the core belief that every action we take is driven by a commitment to the best interests of our students.

Primary Function: Knowledge of all Special Education processes including due process, IEP's, and scheduling. Knowledge of Special Education law and compliance. Demonstrated communication skills. |

Qualifications:

A valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Professional Standards Commission: *Special Education General Curriculum; or |
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance |
|
Monitors due process procedures/timelines for all students with disabilities |
|
Coordinates and verifies state and federal funding counts |
|
Coordinate assessments |
|
Assists in conducting Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings |
|
Assists with coordination of area meetings and dissemination of information |
|
Mentor teachers as assigned |
|
Demonstrates effective teaching strategies and interventions for students with disabilities |
|
Serves as the contact person for RTI/SST |
|
Demonstrates ability to problem solve and diffuse difficult situations |
|
Instructs or consults with students with disabilities when necessary |
|
Serves as case manager for students on consult |
|
Assists with end of the year procedures |
|
Serves as liaison between special education and regular education staff within the school |
|
Provides direct support to special education teachers |
|
Demonstrates clear, professional oral and written communication |
|
Provides training to school staff |
|
Review and finalize IEPs |
|
Performs other duties as directed by Superintendent or designee |
