Head of IT, Americas Region
Stabilus is a global leader in the production of gas springs and dampers on five continents. Our products can be used in a wide variety of industries, such as the automotive and office chair manufacturing industries, furniture technology, solar industry, medical technology, and many other industrial applications. This position will be located in our U.S. Headquarters in Gastonia, NC.
Job Summary:
The IT Manager Americas will direct the activities of the IT department to align with corporate and facility objectives. Assume responsibility for all IT activities in NAFTA region align with global Stabilus standards and policies.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee all information technology aspects of the Stabilus Group in the Americas and establish the strategic direction of the organization’s information technology resources, focusing on driving business performance using well-placed and actionable solutions.
- Determine long-term Americas organization-wide information technology needs and develop overall strategy for information needs, systems development and integration including cloud-based computing applications, following international Stabilus standards and procedures.
- Identify system software and hardware necessary for the successful execution for office and plant teams and coordinate through staff at Americas sites on a day-to-day basis.
- Prepare and oversee the information systems budget.
- Ensure the integrity of all systems and the efficiency and quality of user support.
- Ensure integrity of organization-wide data, proprietary information, and related intellectual property through information security and access management.
- Manage a team of system professionals in supporting SAP, business systems, server systems, manufacturing systems and information security services for all business activities, based on international Stabilus standards.
- Develop and review systems strategies needed to support strategic initiatives as part of the global Stabilus IT team.
- Plan and manage the evaluation of software processes and initiates process improvement activities.
- Ensure common processes around technology platforms, data governance, application development/integration and system change procedures.
- Manage external service partners to ensure all mission-critical applications are available and performing at the appropriate level.
- Stay up to date on technology and innovation trends that may impact the business or provide improvement opportunities.
- Meet with direct reports for business information as well as advising, coaching, and problem solving. Lead team in developing and implementing department objectives and goals.
Education, Training, Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in international environments.
- Excellent management skills, IT knowledge and experience in manufacturing or automotive industry.
- Significant experience in IATF and TISAX environments.
Job Knowledge and Skills:
- Fluent speaking and writing English skills required, additional language preferred.
- Willingness & ability to work in an international team.

- Ability to manage projects and work under the stress of deadlines.

- Good understanding and experience with SAP.

- Reporting to local management and global IT management.
Working Condition:
- Must be able to handle fast-paced working conditions.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
