Job Description

BCS Allegient has an immediate opening for a Budget Analyst to join our team supporting the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER). The Budget Analyst will support a DOE contract by providing comprehensive budget execution, formulation, management, and internal controls reporting. The successful candidate will assist with documenting internal office processes and procedures, tracking and reporting funds, and maintaining financial data. This position plays a key role in supporting CESER mission critical activities.

The candidate must be able to work on-site at DOE HQ (1000 Independence Ave SW, Washington, DC 20585).

Salary Range: $60-$85k depending on qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized records, files, and documentation in accordance with program requirements.
  • Provide general budget support, including budget execution, formulation, management, and reporting.
  • Track deadlines and execute deliverables to support budget and internal control requirements.
  • Assist with preparing summaries, trackers, and basic reports.
  • Develop documentation of budget and internal control process and procedures.
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management or related disciplines
  • 2-4 years of experience supporting government programs or administrative or budget operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using SharePoint for document management and collaboration
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a collaborative team
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting Department of Energy or Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency contracts
  • Knowledge of DOEs internal budget and reporting software tools
  • Knowledge of COGNOS (or similar) based report development tools
