We are seeking an experienced SAP Developer (ABAP / Fiori) to provide Application Management Support (AMS) for SAP applications in ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA landscapes.
The role focuses on L2/L3 production support, including incident and problem management, service requests, root cause analysis (RCA), bug fixes, and minor enhancements within agreed SLAs. You will work closely with functional consultants, basis/security, and integration teams to ensure stable operations and continuous improvement.
Experience supporting SAP BTP / cloud extensions (e.g., BAS, CAP, CPI/Integration Suite, BTP services) is an added advantage, especially for troubleshooting side-by-side extensions and cloud integrations.
Exposure to SAP Build: Business SAP Build Process Automation, SAP Build Apps, SAP Build Code, and Joule Studio is an added advantage.
Key Responsiblities
1. AMS / Production Support (L2/L3)
- Own L2/L3 support for ABAP and Fiori-related incidents, service requests, and minor enhancements; ensure timely resolution within SLAs/OLAs.
- Perform deep troubleshooting and debugging (ST22, SM21, SM37, SM13, ST05, SAT, /IWFND/ERROR_LOG, /IWBEP/ERROR_LOG, browser console) and provide RCA with corrective/preventive actions.
- Support planned activities such as batch job monitoring, spool issues, failed postings/interfaces, and performance bottlenecks; coordinate with Basis/Security/Integration teams as needed.
- Participate in on-call or shift roster (if applicable) and manage escalations professionally.
2. ABAP Fixes & Minor Enhancements
- Implement bug fixes and small enhancements for RICEFW objects: reports, interfaces, enhancements (user exits/BAdIs), forms (SmartForms/Adobe), and workflows.
- Apply ABAP OO best practices and performance optimization; use ATC/SCI and follow coding standards.
3. SAP Fiori / UI5 Support
- Support and enhance Fiori apps (freestyle UI5 and/or Fiori Elements) including UI defects, rendering issues, performance, and compatibility.
- Troubleshoot OData services (Gateway) and backend issues; support CDS-based services/annotations and modern S/4 patterns (RAP exposure where applicable).
- Assist with Fiori Launchpad issues in collaboration with Security/Functional teams (roles, catalogs, groups, target mappings).
4. Interfaces, Deployments & Documentation
- Support interfaces and integrations (IDoc, RFC, BAPI, files, SOAP/REST) and coordinate troubleshooting with middleware teams (PI/PO, CPI/Integration Suite).
- Execute controlled transport and deployment activities during maintenance windows; support regression testing and post-deployment verification.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and handover materials to improve first-time-right resolution
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development and production support experience in ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
- Strong experience in AMS/Run operations: incident, service request, and problem management; RCA documentation and recurring issue reduction.
- Excellent debugging and analysis skills across SAP and UI layers (dump analysis, job logs, update logs, ST05/SAT traces, Gateway error logs, browser/network troubleshooting).
- Strong ABAP fundamentals including ABAP OO, enhancements (BAdI/user exit/enhancement framework), forms (SmartForms/Adobe), workflows, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on support/enhancement experience for RICEFW objects: Reports, Interfaces (IDoc/RFC/BAPI/files), Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.
- Fiori/UI5 support and enhancement experience (SAPUI5, JavaScript, XML views, controller logic, model binding); Fiori Elements is a plus.
- Experience with SAP Gateway/OData development/support; exposure to CDS views/annotations and modern S/4 approaches (RAP exposure is a plus).
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow/JIRA/SolMan/ChaRM); experience supporting transports and releases in controlled windows.
- Willingness to work in support roster/on-call and collaborate across time zones as required.
Cloud / SAP BTP (Advantage)
- Exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP): Business Application Studio (BAS), destinations, XSUAA, connectivity, and common BTP services.
- Experience supporting SAP Integration Suite / CPI monitoring and troubleshooting is an added advantage.
- Experience with CAP and/or side-by-side extensions (supporting deployments, logs, and connectivity) is a plus.
