Job Summary: The 9th Grade Volleyball Head Coach leads all aspects of the freshman volleyball program, including player development, team management, and game strategy. This role emphasizes positive leadership, effective communication, and collaboration with staff while supporting the school’s athletic program and student-athlete growth.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old and a High School graduate
- Knowledge of coaching techniques and coaching psychology
- Basic knowledge of first aid training and training techniques
- Excellent character and ability to serve as a positive role model to student athletes
- Willing to work cooperatively in all aspects of our interscholastic athletic program
- Experience as a player and coach in this sport
Desired Qualifications:
- Current First Aid Certification
- Current CPR Certification
- Verified internship under an experienced head coach or provide evidence demonstrating completion of the MHSAA program for Athletic Coaches Education
- Basic knowledge of prevention and care of athletic injuries
- Ability to relate well with students, parents, and school personnel
Job Description:
- Responsible for all aspects of the coaching position.
- Committed to attend conferences or meetings to support the school district.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- This position requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with some travel to other schools.
Wage:
- MDMEA members: 6% per Schedule B or $3,045
