Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Bell Tower Scholars: Scholar Engagement Committee (SEC) Leaders
The Bridges to Belmont Scholar Engagement Committee (SEC) exists to foster a community between all cohorts of Bridges to Belmont. The mission of the SEC is to provide Bridges scholars with events and support to promote inclusivity, mentorship, and a sense of belonging. Bridges to Belmont Scholar Engagement Committee leaders help plan, host, and facilitate fun and developmental events for scholars throughout the year (including Summer Academy), as well as assist with the Bridges to Belmont Instagram account.
Primary Responsibilities and Expectations:
Promote unity, inclusivity, and positivity within the scholarship program.
Maintain accurate spreadsheet logs of your leadership activities and meetings for service credit.
Serve as an overall role model; this applies to behaviors and habits both on and off campus.
Participate in mandatory training and Summer Academy planning during the late spring.
Assist with the planning and facilitation of Summer Academy events as well as events for scholars throughout the academic year.
Attend committee planning meetings twice a month.
Serve as a liaison between scholars and staff and promote events and opportunities to other scholars.
Attend the at the beginning of Summer Academy as well as at least half of Thursday night programs during the summertime. Attend at least 2/3rds of SEC events per semester.
Other tasks as needed.
| Required Qualifications | Eligibility: Remain in good academic standing with the program. No current or pending conduct concerns. Up to date on community service hour requirements. Must be present for the majority of the summer session and academic year (i.e., not studying abroad). Exemplify good interpersonal skills and communication; strong academic performance; be responsible, reliable, consistent, and take initiative. |
