Project Director


Main Responsibilities


The Project Development Director will be leading the development of the Altamira Container Terminal, in close liaison with the CTO and the HQ teams in Geneva.

The Project Development Director will be charged with overseeing the entire infrastructure development, comprising conceptual studies, interfaces with the business plans, environmental permitting, engineering, tendering and construction follow-up into start-up of operations, based out of our offices in Aarhus.

The Project Development Director will steer and coordinate the activities of multi-disciplinary project teams in charge of construction (civil works, buildings, electrical infrastructure, dredging), electrical grid connection, social and environmental action plans, etc. to ensure the facility is delivered in time, within budget and to the requirements of the project’s shareholders and its financial institutions.

The main responsibilities will include:

Manage the project implementation in close liaison with the company’s department managers and the supporting departments in the holding company;
Ensure the project schedule and milestones are being adhered to and the project is realized within schedule and key stakeholders engaged and are timely updated on progress;
Coordinate all project resources according to the plan;
Actively identify project risks, manage and mitigate project risk proactively;
Ensure proper and necessary input from functional experts (internal as well as external) is obtained whenever required, this with regard to design, construction, legal and environmental requirements, operational permits etc. throughout the project cycle from design through construction into start-up of operations;
Facilitate integration of completion of civil works with operational and commercial readiness;
Prepare and update project documentation, as well as corporate reports and presentations as required, including various reporting towards the project’s lenders;
Ensure business plan and budget are timely up-dated.


Minimum Qualifications/Experience/Skill:

Required skills & experiences:

You have at least 15 years of experience in the management of complex infrastructure development projects in Denmark. Preferably a large part of this experience is gained with either a major civil engineering contractor or as a project developer on large infrastructure projects.
You are a solid, stress-resistant professional, a real team player and convincing communicator. You have proven leadership capabilities and you can easily navigate and influence multidisciplinary stakeholders
You are at ease in contract negotiation and in communication with important internal and external stakeholders. You are good at dealing with customers, contractors and government officials and you have strong presentation and influencing skills.
You have experience in managing a variety of contractors and work packages. EPC experience and the management of design engineering is a definite asset.
You know how to coordinate tasks and resources. You are good at performing rigorous planning and at assessing project risks. You are known to take initiative and corrective action whenever required.
You have affinity with project controls and the management procedures necessary to ensure projects are completed to the required specifications within budget.
You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are capable to match technical expertise with commercial business sense.
You have a strong feeling of responsibility and the highest ethical standards.
You have an excellent command of Spanish and English both verbal and written.
